A Year Without Love

» BDSM in Popular Culture

From a review of Anahi Berneri’s A Year Without Love:

Through his new identity as a contentedly submissive bottom/slave, Pablo discovers a way to transcend his illness. At least I think that’s what Berneri and co-writer Pablo Perez are attempting to say here. Unfortunately, A Year Without Love is so glum and joyless — the stark, surveillance camera lighting doesn’t help — it never invites us to share in Pablo’s spiritual-sexual epiphany.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about A Year Without Love. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
