You’ve heard of BDSM as therapy In Australia one mental health professional took the idea literally and found himself arrested.
Psychologist Bruce Alistair Beaton claims to have used dog collars, fetish clothing and whips in an attempt to cure a young woman of her eating disorder.
On the police tape the woman is seen putting on a dog collar and can be heard swearing an oath to give Beaton her body in order to become a better person.
Beaton calls her his “delicious” submissive and gives her a pink cat-o’-nine-tails whip, saying it was a special treat.
The whip is heard, but not seen, cracking 12 times before police intervene.
Beaton’s lawyer Jeremy Scudds said the video did not show Beaton hitting the woman because he never did.
He accused the woman of being a habitual liar, saying that all Beaton was doing was trying to connect with her and help her get out of violent relationships.
