Kidnapping Fetishist Arrested

» Fetish and the Law

Kenneth Gardner boasted in chatrooms that he was in the business of kidnapping young females. This got him arrested.

Gardner told police he had a fetish about kidnapping but had no intention of carrying it out, and was only interested in finding out how far other people would go.

He agreed he had tried to order chloroform, but claimed he had wanted to experiment with it as a cooking fuel.

The defence case was that, in his internet conversations, he was “simply living out a fantasy” and no-one would have been kidnapped.

Given that he had ordered chloroform he may really have intended to try living his fantasies.

I don’t see how he did anything that was illegal. In fact people all the time make deals to be kidnapped and raped.

How it works is one person who wants to be raped, finds another person willing to do the rape. Typically cash is exchanged (although in the USA thats prostitution and illegal) between the two.

A date and GENERAL time is set (example between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm “victim” will be at some place…) Limits are discussed. And the kidnap and “rape” takes place. As long as its consented and contracted, I don’t see how any crime takes place.

Likewise, buying such materials and making such boasts, is not illegal. What if this guy did in fact do consensual kidnap/rapes and thats what he was referring too?

Hello… I also dont see how he did anything illegal given he seemed to wish to deal with only consenting others. However the danger with such a scenario is the “rapist” arriving at the scene, and “raping” the wrong woman…in which case it would be actual non consensual rape. -Chain/meesekite
